Still Running Strong!
Walk in My Shoes at “Purple Sabha” brought invisible disability into sharp focus
At the Purple Sabha: State of Disability in Parliament Report 2025, India’s first parliamentary accountability report on disability launch event; Walk in My Shoes turned awareness into empathy—helping policymakers understand invisible disability and catalysing conversations on more inclusive policy action. By enabling policymakers, parliamentarians and civil society leaders to physically experience the challenges of Multiple Sclerosis through an immersive installation, the initiative brought urgency, empathy and human context into policy discourse. The presence of Walk In My Shoes at this forum strengthened advocacy and advanced the call for more inclusive disability frameworks. The event was co-presented by MSSI, Politics & Disability Forum and National Law Institute University (Bhopal).Positioning MS at the Forefront of Kerala’s Neurology Ecosystem
Multiple Sclerosis (MS) often remains invisible—under-recognised and under-prioritised, even in progressive states like Kerala. Only a small proportion of neurologists actively manage the condition, resulting in delayed diagnoses, fragmented referral pathways, and missed opportunities for early intervention. At ISA–KAN 2026 in Kochi, the Walk In My Shoes experience zone invited neurologists to step into the lived realities of people with MS—driving home the urgency of integrating MS more firmly into routine neurological care.
Lending A Powerful Voice at India MS Day 2026
Organised by the Multiple Sclerosis Society of India every February, India MS Day shines a light on the people behind MS—their strength, their stories, and their quiet, everyday courage.
This year, #WalkInMyShoes proudly partnered with the Delhi Chapter of MSSI to bring this spirit to life. At Dilli Haat, the campaign came alive as a powerful, on-ground expression of making the invisible visible. Through campaign caps, informational leaflets, and engaging selfie props, MS warriors and caregivers sparked meaningful conversations and captured moments of strength and solidarity. Together, these elements went beyond creating presence in a high-footfall public space—they fostered awareness, humanised an invisible condition, and invited empathy from the larger community.
Navigating MS Together- with Rotary Action Group Against Multiple Sclerosis (RAGAMS)
Held in January 2026 at the Rotary House of Friendship, Bengaluru, the event brought the #WalkInMyShoes experience alive by immersing senior government officials, disability experts and clinicians into the everyday challenges of people living with MS—driving informed dialogue, policy intent and collective action to strengthen MS care in India.
A Special Mention at ICTRIMS 2025
At ICTRIMS, the annual meeting of the Autoimmune Subsection of the Indian Academy of Neurology, #WalkInMyShoes took centre stage. Dr Anshu Rohtagi publicly acknowledged the campaign for building empathy and awareness around MS, calling such initiatives essential to break stigma and drive meaningful change in MS care in India.#Walkinmyshoes in action at a glance
